Professor of International Relations at the Federal University of ABC ­ UFABC

TOLEDO Demetrio is a professor of International Relations at the Federal University of ABC ­ UFABC, São Paulo, Brazil, and professor in the university's Graduate Program on World Political Economy. His work focuses on the political economy of development, with a particular interest in the role of industrial and science, technology, and innovation policies in a comparative perspective. His current research examines the emergence of Asia on world affairs and its impact on South America. He received his doctoral degree in Sociology from the University of São Paulo ­ USP. Professor TOLEDO Demetrio also served as a special advisor to Brazil´s Industrial Development Agency and the country's Ministry of Development, Industry, and Trade.
